Principal Clinical Psychologist
Istvan is a Clinical Psychologist and holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) degree, a Masters of Forensic Psychology degree and a Masters of Clinical Psychology degree. Istvan has over ten years clinical experience both in the private and the public sector, working for Northside West and Northside Cremorne private psychiatric clinics, the University of Sydney and for various community organisations. As part of these positions Istvan carried out neuropsychological assessments with psychiatric inpatients, designed and supervised treatment programs and provided individual therapy.
Istvan is highly experienced in conducting psychological assessments with children and adolescents. He carried out mass testing in NSW public and independent schools to determine the nature of worry in school children and assisted a large scale research study of disadvantaged youth in NSW. As Principal of CPAC Istvan has conducted or overseen in excess of 2000 psychological assessments with children, adolescents, young adults, adults and families, making him a highly experienced practitioner in his field.

Paul trained in counselling and psychological assessment during his Masters (Hons) at The University of Sydney in the late 90's. He has since conducted or overseen over 2000 assessment sessions for universities, state and federal agencies (including Health Services Australia), and private sector occupational and forensic consultancies. Paul has undertaken this work with a rich variety of clients including paroled violent offenders, gifted and learning disabled school-children, injured workers requiring radical re-skilling, and rehabilitation clients with comorbid mental health and substance issues under his supervision.
Paul works at CPAC on a part-time basis conducting child and adolescent assessments.

Thea is a Registered Psychologist who holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) degree, and Masters of Psychology (Forensic) from the University of New South Wales. She has worked in various clinical and forensic settings in both the private and public sectors, including The Sydney Clinic, the NSW Department of Corrective Services, and private practice. As part of these positions, she has carried out cognitive and psychological assessments, assisted with the design and implementation of treatment programs, and provided group and individual therapy to clients. Thea is also actively involved in academic research for Charles Sturt University and the University of New South Wales regarding the presentation of child abuse victims, and perceptions of child witnesses in court.
Thea has extensive experience with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and worked for several years in direct provision of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. She is experienced in provision of behaviour management strategies to assist with countering challenging and problematic behaviours in children. Additionally, Thea has specialised in treating mood disorders including depression, anxiety, and chronic worry using a cognitive-behavioural therapy approach. She has been working at the Comprehensive Psychological Assessment Centre since early 2012.

Madeleine Fraser (Maddie)
Maddie is a Registered Psychologist with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology, both obtained from Macquarie University in Sydney. She has been trained in Cognitive Assessment and Testing, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Therapy with Children and Families. Maddie is experienced in the assessment and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders in children and adolescents, having undertaken training at the renowned Emotional Health Clinic (EHC) at Macquarie University. She continues to work for EHC on a clinical trial investigating e-therapy for adolescents with comorbid anxiety and depression.
As part of her Doctor of Clinical Psychology training, Maddie also undertook training at Westmead Hospital’s Department of Psychological Medicine, St John of God, a psychiatric hospital for adults and several private practices. She was previously employed by the Department of Endocrinology at the Westmead Children’s Hospital on a randomized control trial investigating the impact of alternative treatments for type-1 diabetes on cognitive and intellectual functioning. Maddie is passionate about working with children and adolescents, and also lectures in university psychology and statistics courses.

Peggy Ann (Flin) Samson
Flin is a Registered Psychologist with a Bachelor of Clinical Psychology (University of Amsterdam), Masters of Criminology (Sydney University) and a Masters of Forensic Psychology (University of New South Wales). While studying at UNSW (2009-2011) Flin was an intern at Sydney Clinic, a private psychiatric hospital. Since graduating she has continued her work there, now as a registered psychologist, working with people diagnosed with personality and mood disorders, and substance abuse issues, providing individual as well as group therapy. The therapeutic approaches used have their foundations in DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy) and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy).
In 2013 Flin joined the CPAC team where she received specialised training in assessments and testing and now conducts assessments with children and adolescents.

Maria is our practice manager. She studied social work at UNSW and primary school education through Curtin Universtity. Prior to joining CPAC she worked for a well known Sydney law firm as a public relations officer where she liaised with hospital medical staff, legal professionals and psychologists.
Maria is knowledgeable about the NSW school and health system, psychological testing procedures and treatment options available for children and adolescents. All our psychologists and clients find her extensive knowledge base and approach towards parents invaluable.
